The 8th edition of the West African Clean Energy and Environment (WACEE) Trade Fair and Conference was scheduled to hold as an onsite event in Lagos on 1-2 September 2020. However, because the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has led to the cancellation or postponement of several onsite events around the world, AHK Nigeria has resolved to turning the event into a virtual event with the goal of providing an engaging and meaningful experience for local and international participants who had expected to attend the onsite WACEE.
With our new style of exhibition, we attracted the right target group at the WACEE’19 trade fair with ease through the interesting focus islands available. In addition to the multi-topic country pavilions from Africa and Europe, exhibitors showcased their products or services under water, circular economy and water.
Well-satisfied information at the WACEE Conference as prominent speakers and an audience of leaders in policy and economics at the top-level came to speak at the 3-day conference. Each day was dedicated to one of the three themes – water, circular economy, and energy to discuss the most crucial issues in the respective sectors.
Participants from our WACEE Challenge went through some mentoring with our judges. Experiences were shared and a lot was learned. These participants and mentors shared their story so far at the grand opening of the 7th West African Clean Energy and Environment Trade Fair and Conference 2019. Congratulations to M.E Solutions and Global Biotek for being the winners of the WACE Challenge 2019.
WACEE Stages was a platform for companies and other groups interested in showcasing their solutions to WACEE’19 participants. Performances like drama, raps, and singing were welcomed.
